Five Orillia Rowing Club members participated in the Canadian Sculling Marathon hosted by the Ottawa New Edinburgh Rowing Club recently. The Full 42 km and Half 21 km distance Marathon competitions took place off of Petrie Island in east end Ottawa. Orillia Rowing Club members, Diana Ruhe, Barb Davidson, Rhonda Lauer, Kristi Cole and Julie Newton (pictured left to right) finished the full Marathon 44km course on both the Ottawa and Lievre Rivers, looping Petrie Island twice, in a time of 4 hours 21 minutes bringing home a medal as first in the masters’ women coxed quad category.
 

Rowing the course of the Canadian Sculling Marathon where this masters’ women coxed quad crew brought home a first place medal in their category at the Canadian Sculling Marathon. All crew members shared rowing and coxing positions during their 4 hour 21 minute time.
